Beer Hair Rinse

Now I have a recipe just about all college students can make...all you need for this one is a can of beer! Next time you have a get together, take one of those leftover, half empty beers from the night before and put it to use as a hair rinse. Beer is great for adding shine and body to hair, especially if blown dry after.

Ingredients:
Min. 1 cup of beer (Use what you have, but I prefer beer without a strong smell)

Directions:
I prefer to warm the beer before I use it. A cold beer right of the fridge can be quite shocking in a warm shower. You can use the beer before you wash and condition your hair (which I recommend if your not a fan of the way beer smells), or you can use it after. If you chose to use the beer after washing your hair, you can leave it then follow by blow-drying.

Moisturizing Milk Bath

Just about everyone has milk in their refrigerator. If you don't, buy some! Adding a cup of milk to your next bath will have your skin feeling soft and silky in no time (and for less than a dollar).

Ingredients:
Milk (not soy, almond etc...) - 1 cup

Directions:
Add one cup of milk into running bath water. Make sure to evenly mix the milk into the entire bath. You can add milk to plain or bubble baths. I would recommend this treatment for everyone. Milk is very soothing to the skin and can even help alleviate pain from too much time in the sun.

Toothpaste Zit Zapper

All of us have had that one pesky pimple that won't disappear without a fight. Go into your next breakout battle armed with an unconventional weapon...toothpaste! That's right, toothpaste! This overnight treatment is very quick, and from my experience, very effective at ridding your skin of stubborn break-outs.

Supplies:
Toothpaste (I use Colgate Total)

Directions:
Do this at night, your not going to want to walk around all day with toothpaste on your face. Before bedtime dispense a dab (approx. the size of a dime depending on the size of the blemish) of toothpaste onto your finger. Gently dab it onto the pimple. Go to bed, but avoid rubbing the affected area on your pillow. If the toothpaste rubs off, it wont work. Leave on over night and rinse off with warm water and cleanser the following morning. Repeat this process for up to 2 more nights, but I wouldn't exceed that. If you have extremely sensitive skin, I would approach this treatment with caution due to its drying affects.

Egg White Facial Mask

Once again, egg whites aren't something you'd think to use as a beauty product. Using egg whites as a facial mask does the trick as far as clearing pores of the oils and debris that cause those pesky break outs. This mask should leave your skin looking radiant and feeling fresh.

Supplies:
1 egg
1 small bowl

Directions:
Separate egg yolk from egg white and save the white. (Look here if not sure how to do this: http://www.ehow.com/how_2640_separate-egg-whites.html )Once you've got the white separated, massage it on your face in a circular motion. You won't use the entire white, so toss out the rest or feed it to your dog (they love em). Once massaged onto skin, let sit for 10 minutes. It is common to feel a tight, tingling sensation while the white is drying, this is normal. Once you've let the white sit for 10 minutes, rinse with warm water and your normal facial cleanser. Don't fret if your skin is a bit red, this is normal. Follow with your toner and moisturizer. This is not a daily treatment. Using it once a week should be just fine.

Mayonnaise Hair Mask

Yes, I know mayonnaise seems like the last thing you’d want to put on your hair, but it helps restore the moisture that is lost as a result of every-day styling. This mask works well for extremely dry and damaged hair. Not recommended for people with oily or thin hair (it can weigh down these hair types).

Supplies:
Short hair ¼ cup
Medium hair ½ cup
Long hair 1 cup
Hot, damp towel

Directions:
Spread the suggested amount for your hair length throughout wet or dry hair with fingertips. Once mayonnaise is evenly spread, use a wide-toothed comb and brush it through from scalp to ends. Once mayonnaise has been evenly combed through hair, wrap hair with hot, damp towel for 10 minutes. Wrapping will help to heat up the mayonnaise and make it easier for the hair to absorb. After 10 minutes, shower and use shampoo to cleanse hair of mayonnaise. Don’t fret if hair still feels coated after shampooing, it may take more than one time to fully rid hair of mayonnaise. Do not use conditioner after cleansing the hair, the mayonnaise is moisturizing enough and chances are, conditioner would weigh down the hair.
