A homemade, brown sugar-based scrub is a great alternative to expensive sea salt-based scrubs available in grocery and drug stores. You can save even more money by purchasing the brown sugar, honey and possibly the olive oil at your local dollar store. Brown sugar is a great exfoliate while olive oil and honey help to moisturize the skin.
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar (add more for a more abrasive scrub)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup honey
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Bring that mixture into the shower with you. Once you have been in the shower for about 10 minutes, apply the scrub to your skin in a circular motion. Watch the amount of pressure your applying, if it hurts...use less pressure. After you've applied the scrub, rinse thoroughly. You may want to follow with soap due to possible residue left from the olive oil. It is common to see redness after you've exfoliated your skin; you just scrubbed off all of the dead surface cells. This is what's going to leave your skin glowing and soft.

Dollar Store Finds
If you have a dollar store near you, check there before going to grocery and drug stores for things you use for your every day beauty regiment. Grocery and drug stores often times have prices up to 5 times more than what a dollar store would sell the same items for. The following is a list of things I save money on by buying them at the dollar store:
Cotton balls
Q tips
Make-up sponges (20 for $1.00, drug stores 20 for $5.00)
Nail Files
Nail clippers
Nail polish remover
Nail polish (not always the best quality)
